About The Billy Merritt Improv Workshop

This is a 6 week workshop dedicated to learning long form improvisation.

This class is a fun and easy way to try out new scenic exercises as well as different long forms.

Good for all levels of improv experience. 

If you're just starting out, learn how to get grounded in your scene work.

If you are a veteran improviser, learn new forms and get helpful hints for teaching or coaching.

Get helpful notes and tips from a teacher with over 30 years Improv experience at the UCB theaters in  New York and Los Angeles.

Classes begin Sunday July, 14th from 12:00 - 3:00 and will meet the following Sundays: July 21st, July 28th, August 4th, August 11th and August 18th.

Billy Merritt’s been performing and teaching at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre since its inception. Co-founding legendary Improv groups The Swarm and The Stepfathers in New York, and The Smokes in Los Angeles. He has developed multiple improvised Longfoms such as The Documentary, One Act Play, and the Road Trip. 

Billy got his TV start on UCB’s Comedy Central show, that lead to multiple appearances on Late Night With Conan O’Brien, MTV’s Boiling Points, VH1’s Best Week Ever. Since moving to LA he’s appeared on great shows such as Reno 911, Happy Endings, Weeds, Parks and Rec and Brooklyn Nine Nine to name a few. Billy’s voice is heard on many commercials and cartoons, he’s the voice of Fryman from Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe, and host of Jameson’s Radio Network. Billy is a native Floridian and proudly maintains a Florida Man lifestyle.
