Fran Martone
Fran Martone’s theatrical work spans decades, different media, 5 states and 2 continents. Fran has an MFA from DePaul University and is a member of SAG/Aftra. Fran has appeared in film or television with Aaron Paul, Martin Landrau, Dermet Mulroney and Seth Rogan, among others. Since returning to Toledo in 2016, Fran has performed leading roles with Black Swamp Players, The Village Players, Toledo Repertoire Theatre, and Actors Collaborative Theatre. Fran’s recent directorial endeavors include: The Moors (BSP), Wait Until Dark (Toledo Rep), Alabaster and American Hero (ACT), The Revolutionists. Seascape, Bullshot Crummond and Doubt (Village Players). Fran is very grateful to be directing Language Archive for BSP. Critics have called it “absurdist”, “quirky”, “smart” and “tender” – all adjectives that makes Fran’s heart sing.

Joe Capucini
The Language Archive is Joe’s first production with Black Swamp and he is honored to be here. Joe recently directed Red Speedo (ACT/Rep - ‘24) in June as well as the OCTA-selected play The Thanksgiving Play (ACT - ‘23),and Significant Other (Rep - ‘23). As an actor, Joe has been seen as Salieri in Amadeus (Rep - ‘24), Definition of This (Rep - 22), American Son (ACT/Rep - ‘22), and Apartment 3A (Village - ‘22). Living in LA (2014-21), he appeared in the West Coast premiere of A Time to Kill, stage plays, Disney XD, and a couple national commercials. Joe is the writer of the award-winning short film screenplay, Permission. A proud alumnus of UT’s Department of Theatre, ACT Board member, and Fremont native.
