Disney's Descendants: The Musical Cast

Selena Mason (Mal)
Selena Mason is a rising 8th grader. She is excited to be working with ASOB for the first time and is thrilled to be in the role of Mal, one of her dream roles. Her previous roles include: Anchor in FINDING NEMO, JR., Eric in MATILDA THE MUSICAL JR., and the Witch in INTO THE WOODS JR., and featured ensemble in NEWSIES, ANASTASIA, and CINDERELLA. She dances with Carol Chesney’s School of Dance, and attends voice lessons at The Peabody Institute. Selena would like to thank everyone involved for this wonderful opportunity and experience, and entrusting this role with her. A special thanks to her family for their constant and continued support. Christina Howard (Evie / Dance Captain)
Christina has been acting since she was 8 years old. Her favorite musical is SIX THE MUSICAL, and she’s very excited for DESCENDANTS because it’s one of her favorite movies.
Noah Petrich (Jay)
Noah is a rising sophomore in the acting prime at Carver High School. He’s thrilled to be performing with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore for the first time and thanks Melissa, Linda, Brooke, Sterling, Maddie and everyone in the Descendants cast and crew for the amazing opportunity. He’s most recently appeared in ANASTASIA, HELLO DOLLY, and NEVERLAND.
Angel Thapa (Carlos)
Angel is 11 years old and in his last year of Elementary School. He is performing with ASOB in DESCENDANTS. This is his second time performing at ASOB after playing Bruce in MATILDA THE MUSICAL last year. He likes to listen to music, play games, and take nature walks outside.
Skyler Haldens (Maleficent)
Skyler is a rising sophomore. This will be their second show at ASOB and 4th overall. You may have seen Skyler as Mrs. Bumbrake in PETER & THE STARCATCHER at Towson High or The Doctor/Agatha Trunchbull in ASOB's MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Skyler cannot express the amount of love they have for the cast and crew who have changed their summer for the absolute best. Please enjoy the show!
Alisabeth Lopez (Grimhilde / Queen Belle)
Alisabeth is a rising 8th grader who loves theatre and the general arts. She is enthusiastically joyful to perform with her fellow thespians at Artistic Synergy of Baltimore for the second summer in a row. She’s excited to be a part of DESCENDANTS THE MUSICAL because she really enjoyed the movies and is looking forward to expanding her abilities by playing the dual roles of the Evil Queen and Belle.
Koda Gardner (Jafar / King Beast)
Koda is a 16-year-old aspiring actress. This is their first show with ASOB! They’d love to thank everyone who worked on/in the show, their friends, and loving family for helping them get to where they are today! They’ve loved their experience here and can’t wait for other opportunities!
Kaya Shelton (Cruella /Maleficent US)
Kaya is thrilled to be part of this production. She has been in many shows, including ANNIE JR. as Mrs. Hannigan, BEAUTY & THE BEAST as Bookkeeper and Narrator, NEWSIES JR. as Jojo, THE SECRET GARDEN, SISTER ACT as Michelle, a Nun in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and Wednesday in THE ADDAMS FAMILY. She is eagerly looking forward to auditioning for MEAN GIRLS with Harford Music and Arts later this August. Kaya is a senior and plans to pursue theatre in college next year. She would like to thank her family, especially her mom, for driving her 40 minutes to rehearsals from Harford County. She extends her heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Melissa for believing in her and providing this amazing opportunity. Kaya hopes to collaborate with her again in future shows. She would also like to express her appreciation to all the friends she has made during this journey. Their respect, love, and camaraderie have made this experience truly special. Kaya is grateful for the support and looks forward to many more performances together.
Caden Wise (Ben)
Caden is a Senior at Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts. He is currently doubling in the Vocal Magnet and the Theatre Tech Magnet. Although this is his first show at ASOB, he has been performing since he was 3 years old. Some of his favorite roles were Pepper in MAMMA MIA!, Mike Teevee in WILLY WONKA, Michael in ELF THE MUSICAL, and TJ in SISTER ACT. He is very excited to be playing the part of Ben and would like to thank Melissa for this opportunity. He would also like the thank his sisters, Madi and Alanna and his parents for their support and driving him back and forth to rehearsal.
Moira Lookingland (Fairy Godmother)
Moira is thrilled to performing in her first show with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore. She has been in theater since she was 4. She has performed now in 13 shows! She also enjoys soccer and basketball.
Ayode Dossou (Jane)
Ayode has been doing theater for 2 years, having been in SEUSSICAL, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, and now DESCENDANTS. They are so excited to play Jane in this rendition of the musical, and so happy to be able to do so with this year's wonderful cast.
Meghan Petersen (Chad)
Meghan is excited to be in her first show at ASOB. Her past acting experiences were in the shows ALADDIN JR. (Babkak), JUNIE B. JONES JR. (Ms. Scary), ANNIE (Kate), and LITTLE MERMAID JR. (Flotsam). She wants to thank Ms. Melissa, Ms. Brooke, Mr. Sterling, Ms. Mirabel, Ms. Maddie, and Ms. Linda for helping make the show look and sound amazing. She would also like to thank her family for providing transportation to the rehearsal space and supporting her in her theatrical journey.
Cassie Coles (Audrey)
Cassie is super excited to play Audrey in ASOB’s production of DESCENDANTS. Some of her past roles include Henchman #2 in MATILDA THE MUSICAL at ASOB, Chip in CCBC’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Rafiki in CPM’s workshop performance of THE LION KING, and starring in four Maryland Theater on Ice performances. Cassie’s off-stage life consists of figure skating, reading, drawing, and hanging out with friends. She wants to thank the cast and crew for putting on an amazing performance.
Isabella Lopez (Doug)
Isabella made her theatre debut as Lavender in MATILDA THE MUSICAL last summer with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore and is indubitably excited to participate in DESCENDANTS THE MUSICAL as Doug. Isabella is 11 years old and looking forward to middle school this fall. She loves animals and has a leopard gecko at home.
Julia Ventura (Royal Page)
Julia is excited to make her debut performance at ASOB! You may have seen her as Young Anna in FROZEN JR at ArtBeat, or as Flounder in THE LITTLE MERMAID JR at Rossville Elementary. She has also held various ensemble roles in her school plays, ArtBeat, Epic Camp, and Camp Hippodrome. Julia is going into the 6th grade in the fall. She is grateful for this opportunity and hopes that you enjoy the show!
Addie Stump (Royal Guard)
Addie is thrilled to be working with ASOB for the 4th time! She was most recently seen in ASOB's production of MATILDA THE MUSICAL as Sergei. She has been acting for 10 years now. She'd like to thank her parents and Ms. Melissa for all of their support. Break all the legs, cast and crew!
Alanna Schriefer (Maurice)
Alanna has been acting for 12 years, this is her first year at ASOB and she has had so much fun here and has made great memories and friends. She's so excited to continue doing more shows at ASOB.
Gwen Petersen (Coach)
Gwen is super excited to be performing in her first show at ASOB. DESCENDANTS is the 20th show that Gwen has been a part of. Gwen has appeared on stage in WHITE CHRISTMAS as Susan Waverly, ANNIE as Molly, ALADDIN JR. as Kassim and JUNIE B JONES JR as Tickle the Dog. She has also done tech in several shows. Gwen would like to thank Ms. Melissa, Ms. Brooke, Ms. Linda and Ms. Madi for making this an amazing show. She would like to also thank her family and friends for being so supportive.
Mia Arrington (Snow White / Cruella US)
Mia is a 15 years old sophomore at Patapsco Center For The Arts in the Theatre Magnet Program. She has performed in FOOTLOOSE THE MUSICAL and CINDERELLA. She is thankful to be working with everyone in the cast and crew.
Nex Ferguson (Mal US / Ensemble)
Thank you everyone for coming! This is Nex’s 5th production and 3rd musical and their first production outside of school, so they are really happy to be a part of DESCENDANTS! Another fun thing is this is their first time being cast in a female role. They honestly wish they would have found this sooner so they could get into acting sooner, but at the same time Nex is glad they found this when they did, because they might not love acting as much as they do now had they started sooner. Nex is glad that everyone here is super nice to talk to and has been nothing but nice to them. Nex honestly couldn’t ask for a better cast to work with. : )
Jael Jones (Evie US / Ensemble)
Jael is thrilled to be working with ASOB for her debut performance. She is a multi-talented 7th grader, with the dream of becoming a famous actor and singer. She has many hobbies including reading, drawing, singing, dancing and playing the clarinet. She also sings on the worship team at church. Jael is so grateful to be working with such supportive and kind people and she says, “Thank you to the cast and crew for the AMAZING time this summer!”
Stella Smalkin (Ensemble)
Stella is delighted to be making her debut with ASOB. Earlier this year, she was in West Towson Elementary's production of THE LITTLE MERMAID JR., and she has been a member of the Peabody Children's Chorus Training Choir for the past two years. She enjoys gymnastics and playing soccer, and is looking forward to starting third grade this fall. "I hope everyone has a great time!"
Sarai' Isabela Drost (Ensemble)
Saraí has been in theater since 2018 and acted in six plays. She was the little girl and younger Ti’Mone on ONCE ON THIS ISLAND as well as Molly in ANNIE at ACS (Arundel Christian School). She was Shepherd 2 in ALC Christmas Special at Abundant Life Church. She was cast as Young Nala in THE LION KING JR. at ACS, but due to the spread of COVID-19 the play was canceled. She first appeared on the ASOB stage in 2021. She was Chrys in SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK LIVE, Snug in THE RUDE MECHANICALS, and Hortensia in MATILDA THE MUSICAL; all with Artistic Synergy of Baltimore. She lives with her mother, father, younger brother, and her dog. She loves to draw, play soccer, do gymnastics, code, and cuddle with her dog. She currently plays three instruments: trumpet, violin, and piano and is learning Spanish and Japanese. She is excited to be part of ASOB this summer and thanks everyone for their hard work and support.
Ronald Gusso (Jay US / Ensemble)
Ronald is so excited to be in his first ASOB production. Favorite shows elsewhere include Bloat in FINDING NEMO JR., Nibs in NEVERLAND, Alexei Romanova in ANASTASIA, and Plankton in SPONGEBOB – Youth Edition at the Children's Playhouse of Maryland; Nigel in MATILDA JR. with the Cockpit in Court’s Court Jesters; Donkey in SHREK JR., Mowgli in JUNGLE BOOK KIDS, Sir Harry in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS – Youth Edition, and Hans in FROZEN KIDS at Act with Me. Ronald would like to thank Ms. Melissa, Ms. Linda, Ms. Maddy, and Ms. Brooke for all their support and help.
Maya Smalkin (Carlos US / Ensemble)
Maya is excited to work with ASOB for the first time. Earlier this year, she played Ariel in West Towson Elementary's production of THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. She has also performed in HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR. and THE LION KING JR., was a member of the Peabody Children's Chorus Training Choir for three years, and was selected to the All-County Chorus for Baltimore County Public Schools. She enjoys gymnastics and playing soccer, and is looking forward to starting middle school this fall. "Thank you for taking the time to watch the show!"
Brooke Matthews (Ensemble)
Brooke is so excited to be a part of the ASOB for the first time. Brooke has danced with Rising Starz for the past 3 years and is thrilled to be a part of this show. Brooke is going into 5th grade and this is her first musical performance. “Thank you for this opportunity! Enjoy the show!”
Sabrina Cosden (Snow White US / Ensemble)
Sabrina is excited to be working with ASOB again for DESCENDANTS. She has featured in many shows here throughout her 8 years with this company. She has also done multiple theatre camps at her church, CCC. Sabrina has studied dance at Denise Winter’s Rosedale Dance Company since she was little. She loves all things theater but especially singing around the house and making new friends and memories that will last a lifetime!
Ryleigh Miller (King Beast & Jafar US / Ensemble)
Ryleigh is a multifaceted young talent. She embodies the spirit of a true creative. Her artistic ability includes singing, drawing, dancing and she is learning how to play the clarinet and keyboard. She is excited to be working with ASOB for the 2nd time. Last Summer, she was seen in ASOB's MATILDA THE MUSICAL. She has also starred in TWP's production of FINDING NEMO JR. Ryleigh loves using her creative brain to solve problems and put things together. She wants to be a famous singer when she grows up.
