Shakespeare at the Fort: Taming of the Shrew Cast

Director (Peter Ambrose)
Delta resident Peter Ambrose's prior directing and performing credits include "The Merry Wives of Windsor", "As You Like It", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "The Tempest", "Much Ado About Nothing", "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" and "Forever Plaid". He last appeared onstage as Teddy in ACT's production of "Arsenic and Old Lace". He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has directed and appeared in professional and amateur productions throughout ther west. He's very excited to bring "The Taming of the Shrew" to Fort Uncompahgre and looks forward to many future presentations at this wonderful venue. KATHARINA / Induction Servingman (Julie Laube)
Julie works for the Montrose Recreation District and enjoys outdoor recreation activities, gardening, theatre, singing, and reading. Julie has graced the Magic Circle Players stage in productions of Pirates of Penzance, Young Frankenstein, Mamma Mia and most recently, Newsies. This has been her first experience with Shakespeare.
PETRUCHIO / Christopher Sly (Kevin Inarelli)
Kevin Innarelli is very honored to be portraying Petruchio in this production of "The Taming of the Shrew". It is his first experience acting in one of William Shakespeare's works. He has appeared in several plays for Magic Circle Players and also in "Arsenic and Old Lace" here in Delta. He has also directed a one act play at Magic Circle and will soon direct a full length play there. He enjoys the Western Slope where he has lived for nearly twenty years with his wife and three children. And he really likes horror movies. Seriously, ask anyone.
BAPTISTA / Hostess / Peter (Kim Santich)
Kim moved to Montrose 4 years ago and was able to reconnect with her love for theater after being away from it for 31 years. She is retired and loves it! This is her first venture into performing Shakespeare and is up for the challenge. Kim's motto has always been that if you learn something new, then it is a good day. This is a great day!
Bianca / Third Servant / Nathaniel (Riley Cannon)
Riley Cannon is currently seventeen years old; having just graduated from Delta High School, she will be attending Colorado Mesa University this fall to pursue a major in Outdoor Recreation with a minor in Theatre. Her most recent performance was in 2020 when she played Dr. Einstein in Arsenic and Old Lace. In addition, she has been a part of Destination Imagination, where she competed with a team in the Improv category; together, they made it to the global level in 2018 and 2019.
Lucentio (Everett Gregory)
Everett Gregory has been on and around the stage since the age of seven. Working on such plays as Oliver, Annie, Lion King Jr., and Calendar Girls, he’s excited to be finally diving into the wordplay of the Bard.
TRANIO / Second Huntsman (Megan Franz)
Meg Franz is a recent graduate of Oberlin College and Conservatory, where she minored in Theater. She also had the wonderful opportunity to study and perform at Ireland’s historically dramatic Trinity College Dublin in 2018. Meg attended an actor’s training camp at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, where she found her love for all things Shakespeare. Her recent acting credits include M•A•S•H, Gruesome Playground Injuries, Circle Mirror Transformation, This is a Play, and Peter and the Starcatcher; along with a directing credit for Venus in Fur. Meg would like to thank her mom Maggie Magee for introducing her to the world of theater, and her fellow Obies for always staying dramatic!
GREMIO / A Page / Phillip (Dave Olson)
Dave has been involved in almost 40 productions on the Western Slope since his 2006 debut as Jesus in Jesus Christ, Superstar. A family physician and health care executive by profession, Dave has acted, directed, performed music, and run sound. He counts every show among his favorites, and is thrilled to be involved in this Shakespeare production under the inspiring leadership of Peter Ambrose.
HORTENSIO / A Player (Kevin Cohenour)
Kevin Cohenour is a retired U.S. Navy Chief Warrant Officer. He has been in several local plays in both Montrose and Delta. Most recently he played the "Monster" in Young Frankenstein in Montrose, and Johnathan Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace at the Delta Performing Arts Center. He is very excited to be in Taming of the Shrew with this exceptional cast and production crew.
BIONDELLO / First Huntsman / Nicholas (Breighelle Atchley)
Brei is excited to be in her first Shakespeare play. She is also working as Stage Crew for the Fantastic Mr. Fox with the Partner's Program. She has competed at the national level with her church's Fine Arts Team.
GRUMIO / Messenger (Kaisa Simon)
Kaisa (rhymes with Nice-a) grew up on the Western Slope and first got her start with theater in primary school. She’s excited to be back on the stage after time off in college. She recently graduated from CU Boulder with a degree in Psychology and Minor in Community Leadership. She is passionate about the wellbeing of people and the environment alike as well Kaisa is excited to build relationships within a community near and dear to her heart. She strives to do this through her work with Partners Youth Mentoring where she is directing the show "Fantastic Mr. Fox". If you are interested in mentoring or youth theater, reach out to Kaisa.
CURTIS / First Servant / Servant / Widow (Amanda Laube)
Amanda works for Montrose Recreation District as a lifeguard and swim instructor. She enjoys reading, taking care of her indoor plants, and she also plays saxophone in the Montrose Community band. The last show she did was Wizard of Oz with her high school. Amanda is excited to start acting again.
VINCENTIO / Second Servant (Andrew Bruington)
Andrew Bruington (Second Servant/Vincentio) is excited to be a part of the cast of “Taming of the Shrew”. This is his first foray into Shakespeare and he is truly enjoying the experience. He is also excited to be able to share the stage with his wife, Kayln. When not performing on stage, Andrew is the Director of Bands at Delta Middle School and the Assistant Director of Bands at Delta High School. Andrew would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the arts in Delta County!

Kayln Bruington: (Merchant/ Tailor/ Induction Servant) is not new to the performing arts some of her favorites include Annie (Annie), The Wizard of Oz, (Scarecrow) and has toured the USA twice with Committed_No Less (Camille) and Celebration (Truth). She also has directed several musicals some of her favorites include I Dreamed a Dream, Live By the Hook, Welcome to the Renaissance, & The Forbidden Letter. She has also done various Theatrical Jobs as Lighting Technicians, Stage Managers, Assistant Directors, Costume Design, Choreographer, and More. She spends most of her time at her business Starbeam Studios teaching her love for theater and dance to younger generation. Thanks to my family for all supporting me, my husband for being a co-thespian, and most importantly God for the gifts, talents, and desire!

I am Sydnie Atchley, and I am 14 years old. I will attend Delta High School in the fall. I love to ride horses and can play the ukulele. I am interested in being in the medical field and love to take on activities such as this play to gain experience in whatever I decide to become when I get older.
