About Pride Film Festival

4th Wall Stage Company is bringing the former Central Mass Film Festival back into the fold with this event. We hope to sponsor quarterly festivals that will bring independent film back to our area.

Both films Directed by: Christian de Rezendez

Produced by: 4th Wall Stage Company and re-introducing Central Mass Film Festival

Moderators: Barbara Guertin (4th Wall) and Jerry Bisantz (Image Theater, Lowell)

The 4th Wall Stage Company is presenting two award-winning short films back to back about LGBT+ topics to kick off Pride Month. The films are Fred and Emile & Memories for Sale. On Wednesday, June 12th, at The White Room, 138 Green Street, Worcester MA; the doors open at 6:00pm, pre-show speakers at 6:45pm, Showtime at 7:00pm and a talkback on both films afterwards (approx. 8:00pm)

SYNOPSES: In Memories For Sale, Charlie, a man writing a biography on Sid Freedman, a golden age television star, is caught between a rock and a hard place. Charlie’s agent wants him to interrogate Sid about scandalous details from years ago. Charlie grapples with the decision to profit off his friend's secret or risk losing his livelihood. In the documentary, Fred and Emile, the titular gay couple, talk about their experiences in the 20th century. From growing up in a homophobic society, the challenges they faced both socially and personally, the changes that were seen all the way to their being on the front page of the newspaper. The pair give heartfelt testimonies on their struggles, the importance of their wedding and other important people and groups who were there along the way.

TICKETS:  The admission price will be $10 with a portion of every ticket going to Safe Homes Worcester, a non-profit dedicated to supporting LGBT+ youth.

4th Wall Stage Company

The Mission of the 4th Wall Stage Company is to stage theatrical productions which are of enduring interest that inspire, challenge, and engage our audiences, while recognizing the culturally-diverse nature of our community by producing plays which speak to issues which touch our lives.

4 Classics – Committed to bringing you classic theater – O’Neill, Williams, Shepard and Chekov – we will provide the main course. We have never strayed from bringing you classic theater – From Uncle Vanya to True West, we bring tried and true classics (perhaps with a twist), and focus on bringing the playwrights’ message through our extraordinary company talents.

4 Community – To collaborate and partner with other non-profits to share resources and build a stronger cultural bond by incorporating theatrical components. Our partners have included Worcester Historical Museum, Worcester Art Museum, Ecotarium, Preservation Worcester, Mechanics Hall, Alternatives, The Hibernian Club, New Rep, Image Theater, Zero Point Theater, Trinity Lutheran Church, Hanover Theater and the Sprinkler Factory.

4 Education – Strong partnerships with Worcester County Universities, Colleges, High Schools, and organizations to incorporate learning opportunities that are theater-based – from internships to theater camp. Our partners have included Fitchburg State University (our on-going Internship Program), Quinsigamond Community College, Holy Cross College, Assumption University, Worcester Public Schools and the Jewish Community Center.

4 Experimental – Pushing the envelope with new and controversial works to illuminate, enlighten and excite the live theater experience. We continue to do readings and explore new topics which might be unusual or uncomfortable, but always entertaining. Our partners at Image Theater of Lowell, Forge Theater Lab of FSU, and New Rep have been great catalysts.
