The mission of Prelude Opera is to introduce opera to children. Prelude Opera provides opportunities for children to experience live performances while keeping ticket costs affordable for families of all socio-economic backgrounds. Based in Washington Heights, Prelude Opera presents family-friendly works by both historical and living composers and employs local professional artists. Our vision is for Prelude Opera to be a prelude to a lifelong enjoyment of the multi-sensory experience of opera.
