PHS Programs Under the Direction of Destinee Webb - Semester Classes

PHS Musical Drama (Classes are Semester Based) - Starting 2024 - 2025 school year

  • Musical Drama 1: This is the beginning level musical drama course at PHS.  Students will focus on performance that focuses on a wide range of subjects such as: Theater, Dance, and Drama. This class is focused on building the groundwork knowledge for the future actor/actress.

PHS Singers (Classes are Semester Based) - Starting 2024 - 2025 school year

  • PHS Singers 1:This class is for the beginning level singer and the main goal is to get the student to be prepared for higher-level singing such as All-state and other state focused performances.  Students here will work on the basics of singing through breathing techniques, solfege training, vowel placements and more. This course is recommended for a student who is determined to work and sing with others!

The next class after PHS Singers 1 (Fall semester) would be  PHS Singers 2 (Spring Semester). After PHS Singers 2, then PHS Singers 3 would start in the It is recommended that students take both semesters if their schedule allow to get most benefit from the program (including field trips!) The numbers will continue to add up until you reach the highest possible number (PHS Singers 8)

  • PHS Singers 2-8: This is the upper level chorus class including 3 and 4 honors. This class will be focused on the individual singer and working on the talents of the individual to improve the overall choir’s sound. This choir will also use the knowledge of PHS Singers one which is: breathing techniques, sight-reading, vowels, and more.

 

  • PHS Singers 3 and 4 Honors:  Students in this class participate in auditions/performances such as: All-state, Region Choir, Solo and Ensemble, etc. Students who do not participate in the above auditions or performances can still stay in PHS Singers 3 or 4. Honor level students are required to participate in the audition as well as perform if they get into All-state/Region Choir.  PHS Singers 2 can audition for all-state in order to get into honors level the next year. (You only have to audition and not necessarily get into All-state choir in order to get honors credit. Students who finish their year as a PHS Singer 4 Honors will also receive their cord for graduation as a PHS Singers Completer of 4 years!

 

About the Director: Destinee S. Webb

Mrs. Destinee S. Webb is the Choral Director and Musical Drama teacher of Pendleton High School in Anderson, South Carolina. She is in her sixth year of teaching high school as well as in her teaching career. Destinee was able to get her first job at her Alma mater. She graduated from Pendleton High School in 2013 and played trumpet in the marching band for six years. 

She graduated from Lander University in the Spring of 2018 and received a Music Education degree with a double emphasis in keyboard and voice. When attending Lander University, Destinee was a part of many ensembles including: University Singers, Old Main Singers, and Piano Ensemble. She  also graduated Anderson University and  received her Master's Degree in Music Education in the Spring 2022. 

 She loves to teach music and enjoys taking her choral ensembles to SWU Region Choir, All-State Chorus, and state festivals along with producing fun programs that involve students outside of her choral program.
