Welcome to NCS Drama!!

Oscar Wilde said “I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.” In creating stories of truth and beauty on the stage, we can help people to connect to each other. Each year our students work to bring a show to life that allows them to develop community and connect with each other and their audience. Senior Aidan Graves says “Working on the drama production is unlike anything else. While sports are more physically demanding, the play is unique in the sense that it is mentally and emotionally demanding. Despite all the hard work it's an incredibly fun experience that allows relationships to be strengthened and unlikely friendships to form. It is incredibly rewarding and I would highly recommend participating for anyone who is thinking about it.”

The theatrical arts are unique in that they are able to encompass so many different elements to bring a story to life that reflects the world God has created. From acting to set construction, NCS is able to give students an opportunity to hone their craft and talents. Emma Jordan, NCS senior and NCS Drama stage manager, says “I've been a part of the theater program since 8th grade. I was an actor my first year and began being a stage manager for the rest of my years. The theater program has always been something I really looked forward to during the school year. I always anxiously waited for Mrs. Harmon to announce the play we were going to do for that year. Tech week has always been my favorite part of the entire thing. Seeing everyone's hard work come together at the end of a show gave me the best kind of satisfaction. It also allowed me to see another side of people that I had never really talked to before. I loved how comfortable everyone got with each other by the end of the shows. I'm sad this will be my last production behind the scenes but I am also very excited to see what outstanding performances New Covenant has in store for the future.”

We are thrilled to be able to bring the delightful and heart-warming tale, The Curious Savage, to life this year!
