Welcome to Kickapoo Theatre Department!

Kickapoo High School Theatre Department is proud to be Troupe #1151. Here at Kickapoo, we believe in holding ourselves to a higher degree of performance excellence. At Kickapoo High School we put on 3 productions a year:

• Fall Play*
• Mainstage/Winter Musical*
• Spring Junior Show

The latter of which is available to all Kickapoo High School freshman, KHS middle school feeder schools, and all choice program students 5th grade and up. KHS students can further their theatre arts education by taking classes:

• Drama 1
  • Learn basics of theatre!
• Drama II - Tech
  • Takes a deeper dive into ALL technical aspects of theatre. Learn the basics of set building, costume design, set design, hair & makeup design, lighting, and sound.
• Drama II - Acting
  • Takes a deeper dive into the ‘art’ of acting.
  • Competes in Readers Theatre during MSHSAA competition.
• Drama III
  • Juniors and Seniors ONLY.
  • If you are part of cabinet you MUST be enrolled in Drama III (effective 27-28 school year).
  • Designs the shows for the season
  • Competes in One Act Play during MSHSAA competition.

Students must complete Drama 1 to enroll in any advanced courses. You need only to have taken ONE Drama II course to enroll in Drama III. Only Drama II- Acting and Drama III compete in MSHSAA District Readers & One Act Theatre Competition.

*Students who wish to be a lead in a mainstage production must be enrolled in a Drama course. This is effective the 26-27 school year. Exceptions can be made for those who are Juniors or Seniors and on specific academic paths. This is ONLY for lead roles. You DO NOT need to be in a Drama course to be CAST.*
