The J.R. Tucker Shoestring Players are proud to present a 2024-2025 season that cannot be seen anywhere else in our community!   J.R. Tucker has a large and dynamic theatre department that strives to be inclusive of all students who wish to be involved in the creative and challenging work we do.  

The Shoestring Players are preparing to perform at the 2025 Fringe Festival in Edinbugh, Scotland as part of the American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF)!  

Our mission is to provide opportunities for students to have ways to gain essential life skills through their work on our productions.  Students serve as stage managers, lighting and sound designers, props managers, house managers, in addition to all aspects of production crew. Students also perform live on stage and in our orchestra giving opportunities for collaboration, problem-solving, and thinking on-your-feet.  

The Theatre Department is under the direction of Mrs. Lisa Dyer who has been the Theatre Teacher/Director at J.R. Tucker since 2004.  Mrs. Dyer works closely with the Shoestring Player Booster Club (SPBC) to ensure opportunities for all to be a part of the incredible work our theatre department does.  Please consider supporting the SPBC by visiting: www.jrtuckerdrama.org.
