Fireflies Cast

Eleanor Bannister (Jean Roberts)
Last seen in CAT’s production of RIPCORD. A transplant from Illinois, Jean has played Grandma Kurnitz in LOST IN YONKERS at Artists Walk Theatre, as well as Ann in COCKTAIL HOUR, Bertha in BOEING-BOEING, and Marthy in ANNA CHRISTIE (all at Illinois Theatre Center); and Mrs. Tilford in THE CHILDREN’S HOUR and Edith in JAKE’S WOMEN (Spotlight Theater). Other favorite roles include Countess Aurelia in THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT, Rosemary in PICNIC, Miss Marple in MURDER AT THE VICARAGE, and Agnes in SHADOW BOX. Jean has also done television commercial, film extra, and voiceover work.
Grace Bodell (Linda Snyder)
Linda Snyder is returning to Chamberlayne Actors Theatre after a decades-long absence. In the previous millennium, she appeared in THREE BAGS FULL and STORY THEATRE at CAT. At Barksdale Theatre, she performed in NUNSENSE, WENCESLAUS SQUARE, THE NERD, THE LOVES OF CASS MCGUIRE, and A CHILD’S CHRISTMAS IN WALES; in ANNIE, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, SWEET CHARITY, and THE MUSIC MAN at Swift Creek Mill Theatre; and has appeared in productions at Henrico Theatre Company, Firehouse Theatre, and Dogwood Dell. Linda also spent several years touring the east coast as a puppeteer with her late husband, Terry. And she was honored to be a first-place winner in the annual HTC One Act Playwriting Competition. Lately, Linda has dipped her toes into the exhilarating and scary world of improv comedy. Much thanks to Ann for this opportunity to play Grace, Texas Sunday hair and all.
Abel Brown (William Henry)
William Henry is with his second go-around with Chamberlayne Actors Theatre. He played multiple characters – including an orangutan – in CAT’s fall 2021 production, NEVERMORE! EDGAR ALLAN POE: THE FINAL MYSTERY. Before settling in Mechanicsville in 2020, William was active in northern Virginia community theater. Performances there included multiple male and female characters in A TUNA CHRISTMAS, Bob Cratchit and other characters in the musical ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS CAROL and the title role in THE GIVER. He also performed three seasons as the Mouse King in the Loudoun Ballet Company’s production of THE NUTCRACKER and two seasons as Judas in the Purcellville PASSION PLAY. William wrote, directed, and performed in several productions for public-access television in northern Virginia. A professional writer, he creates the content for www.firstlightfacts.com; and is coauthor of “The Crown of Life Society,” the first novel to address financial exploitation of older people, and family caregiving of older people, as primary subjects. William thanks everyone involved in FIREFLIES, for their professionalism, energy, and friendship; and thanks his wife of 48 years, Charlotte, for her love and support.
Eugene Claymire (Alvino Medina)
Alvino Medina is excited to be making his CAT debut. Past stage credits include Hector Lopez in SQUABBLES, Frank in A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN, Dylan in THE GIFT EXCHANGE, Miguel Roja in AFTER THE REVOLUTION, and various characters in THE HUTCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME. He would love to thank his family for their continued love and support.
